Gem State Handouts from last month (Feb 2013)

Gem State Classic Trip

The Gem State Classic is a ballroom competition that is held annually in Rexburg, Idaho.  The competition will have a national show dance formation team championship title for all age groups.  This brings in a lot of teams and makes for an excellent venue for the Enlight Ballroom Youth to experience formation competition.  Students will also have the opportunity to compete in many individual competitions as well. For the first time, Enlight Ballroom will have their Pee-Wee and Pre-Teen teams compete as a team and individually as well.

This year the competition is being held March 22, 23, at Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho.  The competition starts Friday early afternoon and ends Saturday evening. We have blocked out rooms at the Hamtpon Inn in Idaho Falls which is about 20 miles away from Rexburg.  This is where the junior and youth students will be staying.  To reserve a room call the Hampton Inn (208-529-9800) before February  and ask for a room reserved under Enlight Ballroom.  There are mini suites that sleep 6 or rooms with 2 queens that sleep 4 available.  The hotel fee for pee-wee and pre-teens is not included in the trip as they will be staying with parents so you can pay for the hotel upon reservation.     You are welcome to get a closer hotel in Rexburg or stay with relatives.  Also if you will not be able to travel with your student to this competition, we ask that you find another team members family to take your student so they can still come.  Because this is a team competition, we need all the students to come if possible.

General admission for family to watch is $5 per day or a $20 per day family pass.  Kids 6 and under get in free with general admission. We will have students pay the competition fee to us along with their March monthly dues.

Thank you for allowing you child to come participate in this competition.  If you have any further questions please contact us by email or phone.
