Enlight Ballroom Update 11/25/13

Just a few quick reminders for Enlight Ballroom students:

·      No classes on Wednesday November 27th or Thursday November 28th this week due to Thanksgiving break!!!

·       Also just a reminder about the date for the Christmas show: The entire company will be participating in the Enlight Ballroom Sub for Santa Christmas show this year on Friday December 20th in the Logan High School auditorium at 5:30pm.  All students will need to arrive at 4:00pm for a dress rehearsal and the show will start at 5:30pm.  We want all Enlight students to have the chance to participate in this charity show so please do everything possible to help them be a part of it but we realize this is a very busy time of year so if your students absolutely cannot make the show, please let their coach know ASAP.  Please encourage all family members and friends to come to this show as it is a charity show and all proceeds will go towards the Cache County Sub for Santa program.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!

March 2014 Trips and Hotel Reservations

The Enlight Ballroom Team will be competing in two events during the month of March, 2014.  The first trip will be GemState, in Rexburg Idaho, March 21 - 22.  The second will be Nationals, in Provo Utah.  Although definite times our team will be competing are not known yet, the Provo competition runs from Wednesday, March 12 - Saturday, March 15th.

Hotel rooms for the team and coaches have already been reserved for the Rexburg trip and the Provo trip.  ***CORRECTION*** Hotel rooms for the Jr and youth teams and coaches have been reserved***

We have also blocked out rooms for PeeWee and Pre-Teens traveling with their families at both locations.  The hotels are already filling up for these competitions and they have asked us for a solid  number of rooms to set aside for our families who would like to travel to these events.

It feels like March is forever away, but we need to find out how many families will need a hotel room at the Rexburg event and at the Provo event.  The hotels have asked that we give them number by Monday of next week (November 18th).  Here is the information regarding the hotels.

Gem State - March 21 - 22, 2014.
Springhill Suites Marriott,
Rexburg, Idaho

Provo, Utah

Rooms $105
These rooms sleep 4.
This hotel is walking distance from the Marriott Center where the competition is held.  There will be a breakfast included with the room.

A link to make a reservation is not available for this event.  However, please call Michael Gregson (manager) at 801.427.0978n or email him at michael.gregson@marriott.com for your reservation.  Let him know you are with Enlight Ballroom.  We do not know exactly which days our teams will be competing, however you may make a reservation for all of the days at this time, and change your reservation once the National competition schedule is posted.

Please let me (hgunther@byu.net) or your coaches know if you would like to reserve a room at either of these hotels for the events listed.

Thanks!

California Rules, Packing List and Itinerary

Enlight Ballroom California Trip Rules

We want to provide all students with a safe and enjoyable trip.  In order to assure that all students remain safe on the trip we ask that they use common sense.  It would be impossible for us to list all of the activities that they should avoid during the trip but we have included these rules because the can be used as a guideline for safety.

1.     Always make sure your chaperone and the coaches know where you are.
2.     Obey instructions given by your chaperone or the coaches.
3.     Do not go anywhere alone (groups of 3 or more)
4.     Be respectful and courteous at all times.
5.     No consuming alcoholic beverages or drugs
6.     No involvement in illegal activities or pranks.
7.     A student is not allowed to be in the hotel room of the opposite sex.
8.     If you see a student breaking rules it is your obligation to notify a chaperone or the coaches, failure to do so will result in equal punishment as the offender.
9.     Respect the rules of the hotel, parks, event organizers and your chaperone.
10.                        Absolutley no PDA! (Holding hands is all you get J)

We will not tolerate any breaking of these rules. Failure to follow the rules could result in expulsion from the team or trip and parents will be asked to come and pick you up from the trip or pay to have sent home immediately.

I understand the rules for the trip and know that if I break the rules, I will be sent home from the trip immediately and will have to pay for those expenses and will not be allowed to dance with Enlight Ballroom again. All students must sign and return bottom portion to coaches before being allowed to go on tour.
