PreTeen Meeting and Info for BYU/Nationals March 14th, 2014

Pre Teen Parents Meeting 6:45, Monday March 10, 2014

Enlight Pre-Teen Nationals Itinerary
Friday March 14th
·       All students need to arrive at the BYU Marriott Center Sports Arena (500 East University Pkwy) at 10:00am. Please meet Adam promptly at 10am in front of portal A up top in the concessions area.  If you can’t find him please call his cell at 435-757-4049. It takes about 2 hours to get to Provo from Logan and there will be rush hour traffic so plan accordingly and leave Logan no later than 8am.
·       All students and any other spectators attending the competition will need to purchase a ticket for admittance to the event.  Tickets can be purchased at the Marriot Center ticket office which is by the Marriot Center parking lot where you will be parking anyway.  General admission tickets are $12 for all ages including the students competing.
·       Please pay close attention to the following information: The first event the students will dance is the Elementary School Syllabus American (F/CC) at 11:26am.  After this event, you may take your student for a quick lunch break or just eat the concessions there at the Marriot Center.  Then we will all meet again at Portal A just as before at 3:00pm.  At this time students will dance in the Junior High Syllabus newcomer swing event at 4:18.  After this event, the students will stay together as a team and get ready for their team formation dance.  They will dance the first round of Pre-Teen Latin Formation at 6:07 and then depending on which division they make, they will dancing again within the next hour.  After the team has dance both rounds and all the costumes have been cleaned up and accounted for, students can leave the competition or stay and watch the older Enlight teams.
·       Costumes/syllabus items to bring: It is very important that students where the exact clothing specified for syllabus or they will be disqualified from their events.  We will have the new costumes for the team formation event there with us.  Students should come to the competition wearing their syllabus clothes and have dance shoes ready to put on.
o   Girls: black latin skirts with black trunks under, tan dance tights not fishnets, dance shoes, plain white shirt or leotard (must have at least cap sleeve, must be completely plain, literally nothing on it), no jewelry or hair accessories.  Girls also need to come with hair slicked perfectly into a high pony tail and curled in ringlets and with blush and red lipstick.
o   Boys: black latin pants, black dress socks, dance shoes, plain white long sleeve dress shirt (can’t roll up sleeves), plain black tie or bow tie.

***We know this is going to be an amazing experience for the students to be surrounded by so many kids their age doing ballroom and competing as individuals and as a team.  But we need your help parents to make sure this runs as smoothly as possible by having your students arrive in the correct places at the times we have given.  Thank you for your support and we wish the best of luck to all the Enlight teams competing this next week.

March 2014 Trips and Hotel Reservations

The Enlight Ballroom Team will be competing in two events during the month of March, 2014.  The first trip will be GemState, in Rexburg Idaho, March 21 - 22.  The second will be Nationals, in Provo Utah.  Although definite times our team will be competing are not known yet, the Provo competition runs from Wednesday, March 12 - Saturday, March 15th.

Hotel rooms for the team and coaches have already been reserved for the Rexburg trip and the Provo trip.  ***CORRECTION*** Hotel rooms for the Jr and youth teams and coaches have been reserved***

We have also blocked out rooms for PeeWee and Pre-Teens traveling with their families at both locations.  The hotels are already filling up for these competitions and they have asked us for a solid  number of rooms to set aside for our families who would like to travel to these events.

It feels like March is forever away, but we need to find out how many families will need a hotel room at the Rexburg event and at the Provo event.  The hotels have asked that we give them number by Monday of next week (November 18th).  Here is the information regarding the hotels.

A link to make a reservation is not available for this event.  However, please call Michael Gregson (manager) at 801.427.0978n or email him at michael.gregson@marriott.com for your reservation.  Let him know you are with Enlight Ballroom.  We do not know exactly which days our teams will be competing, however you may make a reservation for all of the days at this time, and change your reservation once the National competition schedule is posted.

Please let me (hgunther@byu.net) or your coaches know if you would like to reserve a room at either of these hotels for the events listed.
